Amazon.com Inc. said it's planning a big expansion in the Los Angeles area including hiring 1,800 people for corporate and tech jobs.
The Seattle e-commerce behemoth (Nasdaq: AMZN) said it signed two big leases at campuses that will house the new employees: One is a 200,000-square-foot lease in Santa Monica at the Water Garden, where 1,000 new jobs will be created. The other is a 116,000-square-foot lease at Spectrum Terrace in Irvine, where 800 new tech and corporate employees will work.
