The affordable housing lottery has launched for River Place, a 40-story residential building at 650 West 42nd Street in Midtown West, Manhattan. Built in 1999, the structure yields 921 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 47 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $38,743 to $167,570.
Residential amenities include garage parking, a shared laundry room, gym, yoga/dance studio, pool, party room, children’s playroom and playground, business center, outdoor terrace, on-site resident manager, concierge, dog park, bike storage lockers, laundry service, common area Wi-Fi, recreation room, a rooftop terrace, doorman, recycling center, and community events and classes. Units will have dishwashers, energy-efficient appliances, air conditioning, and high-speed internet.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are 13 studios with a $1,130 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $38,743 to $124,150; 28 one-bedrooms with a $1,634 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $56,023 to $139,620; and six two-bedrooms with a $2,467 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $84,583 to $167,570.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than June 29, 2021.
