Tiny homes might be small, but they’re still a pretty big investment. Now you can reap the benefits of owning a tiny home without actually owning one.
A new program from Escape Homes, maker of well-appointed tiny homes, is making it easier for people to profit from tiny homes by lending out free portable micro homes to people around the country in return for a cut of the rental proceeds.
Escape’s Rental Program is first and foremost a business opportunity. And one that comes with a few parameters: Partners (the people whose land the home sits on) must be within 100 miles of the largest 50 cities in the U.S. or near a high-traffic destination; Escape gets 60 percent of every rental; there’s no personal use of the tiny home, and partners are responsible for maintenance, utilities, and so on.
It’s not the first time Escape has come up with an innovative business model for its tiny homes. Last year, the company opened its first tiny home village in the Midwest. The Rental Program takes their vision one step further, ensuring that their tiny homes find their way to locations where might not otherwise be accessible.
